Subject: CRDs Til Tuesday's "The Other End of the Telescope"
Here's Til Tuesday's "The Other End of the Telescope" written by
Amiee Mann and Elvis Costello. Capo at the 3rd fret. All the
chords are basic ones, so no need for a chart - sometimes though,
they add the high G on the E string to the C chord --> x32013
instead of x32010. Also, the C/G is 3x2013.
Intro C
C G D G
Shall we agree that just this once
Em D
I'm gonna change my life
C G D G Em F
Until its just as tiny or important as you like
C G D C
And in time, we won't even recall that we spoke
G D C
Words that turned out to as big as smoke
Em D G
Like smoke disappears in the air
C Em D G
There's always something smoldering somewhere
*chorus*
D C G
I know it don't make a difference to you
D C G
But Oh it sure made a difference to me
Em D C G
You'll see me off in the distance I hope
Am
At the other end
C D C/G
At the other end of the telescope
*same as first verse except leave out F - stay on Em in the second
line*
There was a time not long ago I dreamt the world was flat
All the colors bled away and that was that
And in time, I could only believe in one thing
The sky was just phorphorus stars hung on a string
And you swore that they'd always be mine
When you can pull them down anytime
*same as other chorus*
I know it don't make a difference to you
But Oh it sure made a difference to me
You'll see me off in the distance I hope
At the other end
At the other end of the telescope
*bridge*
D C G
There there baby now don't say a word
D C G
Lie down baby your vision is blurred
Em D C G
your head is sore from all of that thinking
Em
I don't want to hurt you now
Am C
But I think you're sinking
Am
(I think you're sinking)
*same as first verse except where noted*
Your half-naked ambition and your half out of your mind
And though your wristwatch always works
Your necktie never fits
Now its so hard to pick the reciever up and when I call
I never noticed you could be so small
The answer was under your nose
C D G
But the question never arose
D C G
I know it don't make a difference to you
D C G
But Oh it sure made a difference to me
Em D C G
When you find me here at the end of my rope
Em D C G
When the head and heart of it finally elope
Em D C G Em D
You can see us off in the distance I hope
Am
At the other end
C D C/G C G
At the other end of the telescope
