YOU GUYS NEEEEEED TO USE A MONO-SPACED FONT TO PRINT THIS
OR IT WILL LOOK SCREWY!
Okay guys. This is my first tablature, and, as such, is very rough. I
hope this is right, because if it is it would make me feel great. The
following is a tab of each riff in "Down With Disease". Under the tab
for each riff is a description of the technique mumbo jumbo stuff. Here
ya go:
1 |---------------------------------------------------------|
2 |---------------------------------------------------------|
3 |---------------------------------------------------------|
4 |---------------------------------------------------------|
5 |-------------------------3-------------------------------|
6 |--------0--0----0--3--5-----0--0----0--3--5--3-----------|
This is the nifty lick that opens up the tune. Maybe it's played on the
bass, but I don't have one, so here's the guitar (I think). Make sure to
slur the first 0 to 3, and bend the 3 on the 5th string up about 1/4.
1 |--------------------------------------------------------------|
2 |--------------------------------------------------------------|
3 |------------5-------------5--------------5--------------------|
4 |------------5-------------5--------------5-------3--3--5--5---|
5 |----X--X----3------X--X---3-----X--X-----3-------3--3--5--5---|
6 |-------------------------------------------------1--1--3--3---|
This part sounds a lot like Primus. The X's mean dead strings. All the C
chords (3-5-5 starting on the 5th string and going up) should be bent
1/4 and then brought back down to normal.
1 |-------------------------------------------------------|
2 |-------------------------------------------------------|
3 |----2--------------------------------------------------|
4 |----2--------------------------------------------------|
5 |----0--------------------------------------------------|
6 |-------------------------------------------------------|
This is the verse riff. It's just a held A barre chord that
disintegrates into mild feedback about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through the
verse.
1 |-------------------------------------------------------|
2 |-------------------------------------------------------|
3 |----5--4--3--------------------------------------------|
4 |----5--4--3--------------------------------------------|
5 |----3--2--1--------------------------------------------|
6 |-------------------------------------------------------|
This is the cool chromatic thing that first happens when he says
"Dancin' on my lawn" the second time. Make sure it's got a nifty triplet
feel.
1 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
2 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
3 |----------------------------------------------5--5--------------|
4 |----7--7--7--7--5--5--4--4--5--5--4--4--5--5--5--5--------------|
5 |----7--7--7--7--5--5--4--4--5--5--4--4--5--5--3--3--------------|
6 |----5--5--5--5--3--3--2--2--3--3--2--2--3--3--------------------|
This is the chorus riff. All of these are steady eighth notes, and
they're all barre power chords. Hey, it's my first tab, okay? When the
women start singing "Stop, stop, stop...", just play the
5-7-7, the 3-5-5, and the 2-4-4 and then start over. Gotcha? Good. Going
on.....
1 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
2 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
3 |----5--5--7--7--5--5--7--7--5--5--7--7--9-----------------------|
4 |----5--5--7--7--5--5--7--7--5--5--7--7--9-----------------------|
5 |----3--3--5--5--3--3--5--5--3--3--5--5--7-----------------------|
6 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
This part is when you want to riff out over the solo because you play
rhythm guitar or are a solo weenie like me. These (I think) are the
background chords.
1 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
2 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
3 |----9-----------------------------------------------------------|
4 |----9-----------------------------------------------------------|
5 |----7-----------------------------------------------------------|
6 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
This is the release. Drop off after the high E.
1 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
2 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
3 |----2-----------------------------------------------------------|
4 |----2-----------------------------------------------------------|
5 |----0-----------------------------------------------------------|
6 |----------------------------------------------------------------|
This is the final chord.
Lyrics for "Down With Disease"
Verse- Down with disease, three weeks in my bed
Tryin' to stop these demons that keep...dancin' in my head
Down with disease, and I'm up before the dawn
A thousand barefoot children outside...dancin' on my lawn
Dancin' on my lawn, and I keep
Chorus- Waitin' for the time when I can finally say
That this has all been wonderful, but now I'm on my way
But when I think it's time, to leave it all behind
I try to find a way to, but there's nothing I can say to
Make it stop
Verse- Down with disease, and the jungles in my mind
They're climbin' up my waterfalls and...swingin' on my vines
So I try to hear the music, but I'm always losin' time
'Cause they're steppin' on my rhythm and they're...stealin
all my lines
Stealin' all my lines, and I keep
Repeat Chorus, add in "na na na" a few billion times, and enjoy!

this is not note for note but it's pretty close:
Sounds better with a rhythm guitar playing:
